Bastir

José Pedro Vieira & Diogo Rosa Lã have been working in both Interior Design and Architecture for almost three decades. The team got together in 2001 and created Bastir, dedicated to Architecture Interior Design and Decoration Projects, for both institutional and private clients. It is based in Oporto, Portugal. Amongst its most important works are the Interior design and decoration of the Bairro Alto Hotel, in downtown Lisbon (2003 2005), the Vidago Palace Hotel, in Chaves, inaugurated in 2010, the Valverde Hotel, in Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon 2014 and the Valverde Santar Hotel & SPA, in Santar 2023. Other interior design projects stand out, such as several restaurants for the Bbgourmet restaurant chain in Oporto, the Envy Health Club in Rua do Carmo, Lisbon, the remodeling of the UBS private banking area also in Lisbon, the project for the same swiss bank Oporto offices, the Clérigos “food court” 2012 in the historic centre of Oporto, and the decoration of The Artist Hotel 2013 and The House Ribeira Hotel 2016 also in downtown Porto. In the Oporto Serviced Apartments project 2015 the company signed both the architecture and interior design projects. Originally associated with very modern and minimalist ambiances, the hotel projects have shown Bastir’s versatility in the interpretation and fusion of classical elements and materials with a contemporary look.
