BATS was founded in 2008 by leading professors and researchers from Purdue university who wanted to show that high-bandwidth wireless broadband was not the time-consuming, unreliable alternative to its wireline counterparts. THE BATS SYSTEM began making waves (literally) at client sites in early 2009, providing companies with a patent-pending software and hardware platform that allows for the real-time extension and provisioning of wireless broadband networks. Two years later BATS has strengthened its best in class position with technologies that allow its clients to access industry-first massive capacity (Gbps +) wireless broadband solutions in nearly any environment or mobility scenario. WHY BATS? BATS stands for “Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems.” Essentially the core technological concept in which the company was founded.
