Be Contemporary

BE Contemporary Art Gallery, located in Urla, Izmir, pioneers the regional art scene with its meticulously curated program. Founded and curated by Bahar Eriş Soyoğuz, an art manager, entrepreneur, and curator, the gallery started as a mobile art initiative in 2019 before establishing itself in Urla in November 2020. This dynamic gallery fearlessly pushes the boundaries of contemporary art, uniting renowned and emerging Turkish artists with global talents. Through solo and thematic group exhibitions, it provides a platform for established and emerging artists, emphasizing those in Turkey. BE Contemporary fosters a dialogue between national and international audiences, connecting the local community to global discussions through collaborations with international artists. Beyond being an art space, BE Contemporary is integral to the Urla art scene. It initiated the Urla Art Route Association, uniting independent art spaces in Urla. Situated near Urla's "Art Street," the gallery has cultivated a vibrant artistic community. Urla, known for its natural beauty and rich gastronomic culture, serves as a tranquil retreat with easy access to Izmir's urban life. Hosting Teknopark and Izmir Institute of Technology, it has become a cultural hub, offering various events and attractions. In this dynamic environment, BE Contemporary stands as an inspirational sanctuary in the heart of Urla. With a 120-square-meter indoor exhibition space across two floors and a 24-square-meter garden for open-air exhibitions, the gallery invites art enthusiasts to engage with thought-provoking artworks.
