Ben Brewer Photography

I am a photojournalist and cinematographer specializing in the fields of editorial photography, documentary and multimedia storytelling, but my background is a bit contradictory to my creative career. Despite my devotion to freelance photojournalism over the past decade, I graduated with a degree in Biological Chemistry from Grinnell College. Yes, you read that correctly…a photographer with a penchant for biology, chemistry, and neuroscience. After earning my degree, I honed my visual storytelling abilities around the country in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and the Deseret News in Salt Lake City. Since then, I heard the siren song of the Midwest calling me home. I am now currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota freelancing for The New York Times, Reuters, Bloomberg and various editorial news outlets.
