Hello, my name is Ben and I’m a photographer, amateur woodworker, artist, road-trip enthusiast, trophy husband, and dad to a fiery ginger daughter. I live in Ames, IA with my amazing wife Nichole, daughter Nora, and dog Layla. I love light, shadows, and telling beautiful stories with images. My approach to photography is collaborative, creative, and authentic. I work to create a comfortable, relaxed, positive experience where you can be yourself. What is important to me are stories. When I’m documenting your wedding or event, I want to produce images that portray the narrative that is taking place, as well as the mood, feeling, and other intangible elements. When I am shooting portraits, my approach is similar–but with the added luxury of directing more of the lighting, environment, and subjects. Well, that is enough of me talking about me.
