What started with his entry into the insurance field became formalized in 1949 with the incorporation of Benj Acosta Inc, which quickly grew to become Puerto Rico’s leading all-lines adjusting firm. For decades, Benj Acosta Inc. built its reputation on integrity, professionalism, and technical excellence. In 1972, Joaquín Acosta, Don Ben’s son, joined the company and has since presided over it for more than three decades. Under his leadership, the firm expanded its presence beyond Puerto Rico to the continental United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and South America. In 1965, as part of this expansion, Benaco Adjusters was created to carry forward the Acosta name while embracing innovation.
