Bench Metrics has two products. The first product, Scout Metrics, is utilized by NHL teams to prepare for the entry draft as it provides detailed event data and analytics on the top 100 players eligible for the draft. The second product, Coach Metrics, is a sophisticated database engine that gives Coaches, General Managers, and Hockey Operations staff members the ability to evaluate both individual players and entire-team performance based on statistical analysis and detailed reports. We have found a simple, intuitive, and powerful way to organize and deliver hockey analytics information that some coaches and analysts have kept for years. It uses complex algorithms behind the scenes, yet the reports we produce can be created, read, and understood without any technology background whatsoever. Bench Metrics uses a combination of the classic NHL statistics (Goals, Assists, Plus/Minus, Hits and Blocked Shots, Ice Time, etc) in combination with our own customized and advanced tracking of Scoring Chance data broken down by Strength, Offensive or Defensive System, Opponent, and various other categories.
