Besa Global drives positive change on strategic issues in fragile and conflict affected spaces. We innovate by combining our expertise in anti-corruption, peacebuilding, and civil society strengthening with our technical know-how in context analysis, program design, and monitoring and evaluation. By transcending sectoral silos and honoring a deep commitment to learning, we continuously deepen our understanding and adapt our approaches. Besa Global is the operational home of the Corruption, Justice & Legitimacy (CJL) Program. CJL is committed to removing the barriers to durable peace and development caused by endemic corruption. Bringing a systems approach to anti-corruption work, CJL specializes in innovative corruption analysis, social norms change, and the intersection of peacebuilding and anti-corruption. Our work has been featured in leading publications focused on evaluation, peacebuilding, and anti-corruption. Besa develops strong partnerships based on mutual values and complimentary expertise. We have experience working effectively with a wide range of organizations, including: • Non-profits (e.g. Transparency International, Policy Innovation Centre, CARE, International Committee of the Red Cross, Revenue Watch Institute), • Government agencies and foundations (e.g. The Inspectorate of Government – Uganda, Law Enforcement Academy – Uzbekistan, U.S. Department of State, Open Society Foundation, USAID, International Development Research Centre Canada, and the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs), • Multi-lateral agencies (e.g. UN Peacebuilding Fund, UN Mission in Liberia). What’s in a name? Drawing from the Kosovar Albanian tradition, where besa means a commitment or pledge, our name represents our commitment to excellence, integrity and learning in all our work.
