Best Start Parenting Center provides professional lactation services in the Lynchburg, VA area with Jane Bradshaw an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, who is also a Registered Nurse. Prenatal Classes for Breastfeeding, Childbirth Education, and HypnoBirthing are taught by experienced staff; Karen Gehl, BA, ICCE, certified through ICEA and Jane Bradshaw a Certified HypnoBirthing Instructor. Post natal classes include Breastfeeding and Returning to Work, Baby Massage, Baby Sign, and Making Your Own Baby food. Best Start rents the medical quality breastpumps and provides guidence and support for mothers who need to pump, especially if they have a premature baby or other medical circumstances. Best Start has a Mother/Baby boutique with an excellent selection of efficient, effective breastpumps, maternity and nursing bras and experienced staff to help mothers choose what is best for their situation. Modern washable diapers are also featured in our boutique and are increasingly popular. Many events for mothers are heald at Best Start including 'Mother's Teas' with different topics each month of interest to mothers, and Mommy Playgroups.
