Beyond Urban

Indian cities are growing into what is known as city-regions, having significantly wider geographical and administrative extents. What used to be problems faced by cities only a few decades ago, is now commonly spilling over to their adjoining regions. It is of paramount importance to set urban areas in India on the right track at the right time. As a consultancy, we seek to work not only in areas which are evidently identified as urban, but also rural, regional and peri-urban. Hence the name- ‘Beyond Urban’ We envisage that through this consultancy, we will pursue a pragmatic and evidence-based approach towards solving problems that are currently bothering India’s cities. In our approach, we are mindful of the wider global attention to sustainable development. Therefore, all work that happens at Beyond Urban shall be centered on the three dimensions of sustainability – economy, environment, and the society.
