Hello and welcome to Beyond Your Stethoscope! We are a brand-new social enterprise created by doctors, for doctors. Our vision is simple. For doctors to have happy and fulfilled careers. INSPIRE We will feature a wide range of advice, insights and inspirational first-hand stories about all the different ways doctors can go beyond their stethoscope. Paid roles, volunteer opportunities, career breaks, side-hustles, leaving medicine for good: we will cover them all and more. OPPORTUNITIES We will work with employees and organisations to develop a portal of paid and volunteer beyond the stethoscope roles that you can apply for now. DEVELOP A non-linear approach to career, personal and professional development We are passionate about developing creative, varied and holistic ways for doctors to approach career, personal and professional development. We are especially passionate about leadership development. COMMUNITY We hope to build an online community of like-minded medics who are passionate about supporting each other, sharing experiences, challenges and successes of their endeavours beyond the stethoscope. We will share stories, achievements and news about all things BYS on our website, social media channels and a brand-new podcast. SKILL SHARING One of our core values in equity. We are passionate about all doctors receiving the same access to opportunities that that enable them to have a happy, fulfilled career. We recognise and respect that to achieve this, some doctors will require a more intensive, focussed approach based on their background and where they live or work. For this reason, we will work as a social enterprise, investing our profits into facilitating more of our peers to ‘go beyond’, with a focus on those working low and middle-income countries across the Asia-Pacific region.
