BG Advisory is Belinda Gibson’s consulting business. You receive personal and independent advice that identifies a clear way forward, based on rigorous analysis. The business works with internal resources to identify programs for change in areas affecting corporate success - governance structures against best practice standards, integrity reviews and cultural change responses, and board reviews. The business can also assist with the design and implementation of regulatory change strategies with specialist advisers. The business is built on Belinda's experience as a non-executive director, and as a senior executive in services businesses. Her professional background as a leading corporate and M&A lawyer and then as the deputy chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, with lead responsibility for the capital markets informs her strategic approach that looks to give voice to relevant stakeholders. Belinda was a partner in the corporate and M&A group at Mallesons for 20 years. She provided transactional advice on M&A deals and securities issues, and led commercial negotiations for a number of complex alliance strategies. She was a founder of the firm's governance practice. Belinda led ASIC’s capital markets oversight teams from 2007 – through the global financial crisis, and attendant market crisis in Australia. ASIC implemented the most significant securities market infrastructure reforms in 20 years, with the broad support of the industry. Since then she has built a NED portfolio, with a particular focus on the financial services and infrastructure industries.
