We believe bicycles have the power to change the world. We are digitally insulated from real, human contact. The physical connection to one's surroundings and personal sense of physicality is critical to social civility, stability, and integrity. A bicycle is a machine that can unite cultures, ethnicities, races, religions and genders. It bridges the social gaps and inequities that work to tear our social and cultural fabrics apart. By encouraging independence and self-reliance, a bicycle is also a tool of freedom. The transportive effects go beyond the utility of the machine. It is a mechanism that brings people together and bonds them through shared experience. Most importantly, it develops the individual into a better version of themselves. We inform this development by inspiring, guiding and documenting the people working to improve themselves and their communities for the better. We aggregate the largest calendar of cycling events throughout the West Coast of the U.S. We cater to a broad audience of people with an inclusion of recreation events, races and bike-friendly social gatherings. We publish a print and digital magazine 10 times a year, a weekly podcast, and a daily supply of unique and informative content through a panoply of digital channels and mediums. No matter how illustrious a person may be, the bicycle provides an opportunity to develop them for the better. A bike ride around your community develops awareness and accountability. Going beyond, the lifestyle of cycling trains the human discipline and perseverance required for riding long stretches in the saddle. Competitive cycling challenges any notion of toughness in combat sports with the capacity for suffering extended to super-human lengths. The mental sharpening achieved by subconscious balance and motor function for extreme lengths of time is unmatched. Do we believe the bicycle itself makes the world a better place for all? No. But we believe the people who ride them do.
