At Bier & cO we like to do things differently. We are not just an importer, exporter, distributor and brand builder - we are also a knowledge centre of unique beverages. We started as the Dutch pioneer in the world of craft beers. Driven by curiosity, we had the clear ambition to break the rules in the world of drinks - not afraid to pave new ways and explore. Bravery, curiosity and an untamed passion for the best craft brewed beverages define the culture of Bier & cO. In the mid 1980s, our founding fathers started to import Belgian craft beers to Amsterdam. A vibrant city filled with young, free-spirited and rebellious individuals who in their heartfelt criticism of capitalism turned to craft beer brewed by small breweries. For these individuals, drinking craft beer was almost an act of resistance: against industrial pilsner, against plain flavors and against playing by the rules. Over the last three decades many things have changed. Bier & cO has grown from rulebreaker to rulemaker. Late nineties we brought Hefeweissen to the Dutch market, shortly after the turn of the century we introduced IPA, thereby opening up a world of taste for beer lovers in Europe. As proud as we are of those achievements, we continue to set the standard in craft brewed beverages each and every day, now and in the future.
