Billytown
Billytown is an artist-run-gallery located in the centre of The Hague. Billytown was founded in 2003 as an artist initiative. Since May 2015 they opened a gallery with the main goal to be self supportive. Billytown is a hybrid space for art, which combines the commercial side of running a gallery with the identity of an artist initiative. Producing and exhibiting artworks from under one roof. Billytown organizes five to six exhibitions per year, inviting not only national and international young and established artists, but also curators and writers. It functions as a platform to meet, exchange, experience, discuss and develop. Besides the projects within Billytown it challenges itself by curating exhibitions at other initiatives as well as participating at art fairs. Billytown hosts sixteen studios, a guest studio, the gallery, The Kitchen (a project space with a more process-oriented character and a small flexible programming) and Billytown Bookshop. Since January 1st 2017 Billytown can offer the 'KunstKoop regeling'. Please find more information here. OPEN THURSDAY/FRIDAY/SATURDAY 12:00–18:00 (or by appointment)
