In recent years tens of thousands of online book tastemakers have reinvigorated the book industry, single-handedly igniting bestsellers and TV/movie franchises from overlooked titles. We believe these tastemakers are key to building a world of books that is more creative, independent, and equitable. We’re building a platform for them to deepen their relationship with their audience, cultivate community, earn the income they deserve, and ultimately publish tomorrow’s most beloved books. Bindery is co-founded by Matt Kaye, former Head of Product at Patreon, Amazon Books PM, VP of Growth at seed-stage startup Inkshares, Head of Growth & Engagement at Trulia, and book marketer in publishing; and Meg Harvey, former Chief Strategy Officer at Girl Friday Productions, a firm she steered for nearly 10 years from a full-stack book production house for major publishers to award-studded, industry-leading independent publishing services company. We are united by a shared passion for the power of books and storytelling and a belief that world-changing stories can come from anywhere. We aim to build a culture that is as diverse, purposeful, and compassionate as the communities we serve.
