BioColumn is a biotech venture committed to optimizing food systems and economies using profitable and environmentally-friendly agricultural techniques called “aquaponics.” BioColumn is commercializing the aquaponics-based BioColumn, a patented technology designed to handle high volumes of water, grow a wide variety of salable plant products, and automate biomass production. Through aquaponics, the BioColumn is able to use the nutrient-rich wastewater from fish farming or aqua-culture as organic liquid fertilizer for hydroponic agriculture. The modular bioreactor system efficiently treats wastewater making it ideal for recirculating aquaculture systems and water productivity models.
