Bioinspired Solutions LLC has more than 30 years of experience in developing materials to support a specific biological function for different cell types, developing processes for manufacturing biological scaffolds, and developing tests and methods to characterize and quantify cellular function on bioscaffolds. Bioinspired Solutions LLC has expertise in characterizing and quantifying the function of living cells that are in contact with a bioscaffold. The living cell may be human or animal like stromal cells harvested from the bone marrow, endothelial progenitor cells harvested from the peripheral blood, macrophages harvested from the human spleen, or chondrocytes harvested from the calf cartilage tissue. The living cell may also be bacteria like Escherichia coli or Clostridium perfringens found in the human gut. The scaffold may be natural or synthetic. The synthetic scaffold may be a solid, fiber mesh, woven fibers, or a hydrogel. The cells may be seeded on the scaffold or encapsulated within the scaffold matrix. The quantification of cell function includes adhesion, spreading, motility, mitosis, and protein, RNA, and DNA gene expression profiles and the dynamics of these functions with time.
