Bionic Palm Ltd.(BPL) is an innovative agriculture and agriprocessing company in West Africa. We aim to bring the highest standards of sustainability to African agriculture reverting depleted former farm land into high value crop land through a unique soil management process. Our strategy requires a carbon negative footprint which will be achieved through carbon sequestration utilizing biochar. A minimum of 50% of our cultivated lands will be permanently dedicated to the planting of food crops for local markets, while the remainder will be used for soil management purposes and non food oil crops. Among many other projects BPL has an ongoing Jatropha curcas breeding program in place (http://jatropha.bionic-enterprises.com) developing new hybrid varieties exhibiting the following traits:(1) non-toxic (2) yield improvement by min 100%(3) local pest resistance (4) ease of harvest.
