Career services in higher education have evolved since its inception and adapted to various models following economic conditions, trends, and demands of the labor market, and needs of the university and society. At the end of the 20th and early 21st century, the information technology and social media revolution transformed career centers into dynamic networking hubs that engaged hiring organizations in campus recruiting and facilitated networking between students and recruiters. Career Development Center is a relatively new term for most educational institutions, governmental, and NGOs in Ethiopia. For instance, in higher education institutions, it starts with a shallow depth in first-generation universities by 2017. However, there could be a need for students to acquire focused and specialized services to develop their career awareness. የሙያ ማጎልበቻ ማዕከል ምስረታ በዓለም መድረክ ከ20ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን መግቢያ ጀምሮ በተለያዩ ተቋማት ሲተገበር የቆየ ቢሆንም ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ ለስደተኞች በስራ ማፈላለግ ሰበብ ተጀመረ፡፡ይህ በዚህ እንዳለ ድህረ ገጽ(ኢንተርኔት) ወደዚህ ዓለም ከተዋወቀ ጀምሮ ብዙ እድገቶችን በተለያየ ተቋማት ያሳየ ማዕከል ሆኗል፡፡ በሃገራችንም የረጅም ጊዜ እድሜ ባይኖረዉም ባለፉት ሁለት ሶስት አመታት ጀምሮ በትንሹም ቢሆን በማደግ ላይ ያለ ማዕከል እየሆነ ነው፡፡ የሙያ ማጎልበቻ ጽንሰ ሃሳብ በራሱ በሂደት የሚያድግ ማዕከል ሆኖ ሳለ ሙያን ከመምረጥ ብሎም ከማሳድግ ከዛም ስራ ፈጣሪነትን በማበረታታት የሚጓዝ የሙያ እቅድ ማዳበሪያ ነው፡፡ በቢሮም ደረጃም የሙያ አገልግሎት(Career Service) ተብሎ ከሚጠራ ይልቅ የሙያ ማጎልበቻ ማዕከል(Career Development Center) መባሉ ቢሮው በራሱ በሂደት እያደገ የሚሄድ መሆኑን ይነግረናል፡፡ የዚህ ጽንሰ ሃሳብ መነሻ “አገልግሎትን” ከመሰራታዊ የማዕከሉ መዳረሻ በመመልከት ጅማሮውን ግን እንደ ማጎልበቻ ማየትን ይሻል። የተቋሙን ግብ መሰረት አድርጎ የራሱን ተልዕኮና ራዕይ ለማሳካት ከተቋቋሙ፣ ከልዩ ልዩ የስራ ፈጣሪዎች፣ አክሲዎኖች እና የማህበረሰቡ ክፍሎች ጋር ለመስራት ላይ ነው፡፡ተማሪዎችንም ከቀጣሪዎች ጋር ከማገናኘት በፊት በልዩ ልዩ መንገድ የሙያ ማዳበሪያ የሚሰጥበት ቦታ ይሆናል፡፡እንዲሁም የመምህራንን እና ተማሪዎች የማስተማር ፍላጎትና የስሜት ብልህነትን በስልጠና ማዳበር፣ የተማሪዎችን የስራ ሂወት ማጥናት፣ የሁሉተኛ ድግሪ ትምህርት ጥናቶች አፈላለግ እናም የታወቁ ስራ ፈጣሪዎችንን በመጋበዝ አነቃቂ ንግግሮችን ማካሄድ ይገኙበታል፡፡ ከዚህም በተጨማሪ ከሁለተኛ ደረጃ እና መሰናዶ ተማሪዎችን ጋር የሙያ አጋር አባላትን(Fellow members of CDC) በመመልመል የራሱን የሙያ ቤተሰቦች የሚፈጥር ነው፡፡
