The company was founded in 1989 by two friends, Betsy Younkins and Jean Zunkel, who decided to transform their shared love of travel into a company. At first BJ Adventures focused on mobile safaris throughout Southern Africa, but as the client list grew, so did the company's scope and staff. Jean’s daughter, Ahdina, joined the company in 2015 and the team now has three decades of designing travel experiences to more than 100 countries behind them, but remain known for their expertise in crafting incredible safari experiences.
