Bkid

BKID is a design studio led by industrial designer Bong-Gyu Song, founded in 2006. Based in Seoul, South Korea, BKID works in a variety of fields, including crafts, high-tech, and modern art. It collaborates with global technology companies such as BMW, AUDI, Samsung, LG, DELL, and Diesney. It has achieved many results in a wide range of fields, including home appliances, IT, medical devices, digital design, and content. It has won over 40 awards, including IF, Red Dot, CES (USA), Good Design Award (Korea), and Good Design Award (Japan), and is working on projects with over 100 clients, including global companies and startups that are trying to integrate new technologies into design. Founder and design director Bong-Gyu Song was selected as a jury member for the iF Design Award 2020 – Product category in Hannover, Germany, was selected as a design jury member for the Audi Design Competition in 2013, and was selected as one of the 10 Korean designers representing Korea by JoongAng Ilbo in 2012. In 2012 and 2016, he was selected as the Designer of the Year by Monthly Design's Living Design, in 2013, he was selected as a 'Young Leader to Lead Korea' by Forbes Korea, and in 2015, he was selected as the Young Artist of the Year by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
