Black Engine means dedication to space transportation. More precisely, 20 years of experience in ceramic rocket engines at the German Aerospace Center DLR translated into 14 patents filed or registered with EPO. We aim to make space more accessible by combining lightweight off-the-shelf materials and innovative engine design. Unlike everyone else, we use ceramics as the primary material in order to make the engine affordable, reusable and easy to maintain. Ceramics are lighter and more reliable than 3D printed metal alloys.
