Black & Smith Associates provides bookkeeping services, a wide range of financial management services and guidance on retail operational management. We have a philosophy of working closely with our clients both at boardroom and operational management levels. We have developed a series of weekly procedures which when used diligently can provide detailed financial performance analysis so that managers can control costs and increase profitability whilst gaining a deeper understanding of their business. Typically, we visit our clients on a weekly basis to process accounting documents and review information provided by operational management. This weekly visit gives us an opportunity to produce an estimated profit and loss account for discussion with management. Management can then take prompt action to correct margins or staffing levels should it be necessary rather than waiting for the monthly management accounts. We have close working relationships with a number of banks and can support you if necessary with account opening and becoming an account signatory in order to process periodic payment runs and dealing with cash flow management processes. We are not a practising firm of accountants and do not therefore prepare annual statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, provide corporate restructuring advice or become engaged in public practising activities. It is our routine to recommend a suitable accounting firm at an agreed budget to assist with this work.
