Blackchango Entertainment was born out of a lifelong passion for music. Founded by Gilberto A. Nieves, an engineer-turned-entrepreneur from Puerto Rico, Blackchango is a small but determined label dedicated to bringing great music to life and helping emerging artists build their careers. After studying and building a professional career as an engineer, I couldn’t shake my love for music. It had always been a part of who I am. In 2021, during the pandemic, I decided it was time to pursue that passion. With little formal knowledge of the music industry but a lot of drive, I founded Blackchango Entertainment—a place where creativity, hard work, and a love for culture come together. At Blackchango, I wear many hats. From production to marketing, I handle every aspect of the process, working closely with artists to turn their vision into reality. My goal is simple: to create music that resonates with people and to give talented artists the tools and support they need to grow. While we’re still a small operation, I hope to make a lasting impact—on music, on culture, and most importantly, on the careers of the artists I work with.
