Blacksburg Books

As a literature major with a passion for words, stories, and the pages on which they’re told, I’ve dreamed of being surrounded by books – and providing a space for others who love them as much as I do. I moved to Blacksburg with my family in 2014 and felt the absence of a local bookstore. When the opportunity unexpectedly came knocking, I couldn’t say no. In November 2020, I quietly mentioned on the Facebook Everything Blacksburg page that I was beginning to build an inventory to open a bookstore in town. The positive response from hundreds of people – within days – let me know our community wants this, too. At Blacksburg Books, we love the smell of books, and we love holding books in our hands. We want to bring something to Blacksburg that’s been missing for a while: A place to gather, to browse, to read, to discover. A place where people can find things on the shelves that surprise, delight, and spark the imagination. As part of our commitment to Blacksburg and the New River Valley, we’re also partnering with local food and beverage vendors, artisans, artists, authors, and musicians. We think the creative work of people in our community is a perfect compliment to our books, and we invite you to explore everything Blacksburg Books has to offer.
