Blaq Equity exists to ensure that Black LGBTQIA+/SGL people in Baltimore have the power, resources, and community support to shape their own futures — on their own terms. Because we deserve more than survival — we deserve to thrive. Our mission is to create and nurture safe spaces where Black LGBTQIA+/SGL Baltimoreans can gather, build tangible support systems, and lead the way toward an equitable future where we are all safe, celebrated, and empowered. We envision a Baltimore where Black LGBTQIA+/SGL people are fully free — free to be ourselves, free to be safe, and free to build lives full of joy, power, and connection. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed initiatives, we advance our mission by offering: • Community Engagement to foster connection and solidarity. • Educational Programming to build awareness and promote growth. • Training and Personal Development to strengthen leadership and self-empowerment. • Strategic Community Coalition Building to unite organizations and individuals working for systemic change. Together, we are building a Baltimore where liberation, joy, and collective power thrive.
