Blockera is an Australian EdTech startup pioneering the next generation of digital credentials. Originally developed as a Capstone Project within the Master of Business Information Technology (MBIT) program at RMIT University, Blockera has evolved into a cutting-edge platform helping educational institutions issue secure, automated, and verifiable certificates using private blockchain technology. The platform is purpose-built to support academic staff and students by integrating with university systems to automatically issue certificates and skill-based badges once students achieve specific learning outcomes. At RMIT, this solution enables course coordinators to eliminate manual processing while boosting transparency and trust in student achievements. A unique feature of Blockera is its gamified rewards system: students earn points through assessments and engagement, and upon reaching performance thresholds, they unlock digital badges aligned with specific skills and competencies. This not only motivates learners but also enhances their employability by showcasing verified accomplishments.
