Originally based in the Cayman Islands, the company was acquired by the Bermuda-based Ignition Group of Technology Companies in April 2013. Blue Bison focuses on Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) applications, offering solutions to the Offshore, Mid-shore and Onshore world meeting the needs of the financial services sector. The applications offered include Blue Bison KYC® with the Blue-Bison FATCA RO® and Database Risk Search® (‘DRS’) options and DRS® as a stand-alone solution. Blue Bison-KYC® is designed to assist firms in collecting, managing, and storing due diligence information for their customers and related parties. It is an integrated customer database and digital document management application. Built-in business rules enforce responsible procedures for documenting evidence of customer identity. Firms will be assured of maintaining their records to a standard acceptable to most regulatory bodies. The FATCA RO® module captures and displays all FATCA relevant information in a single place for an easy determination of the FATCA status for an entity, in addition to new fields and labelling options which reflect specific data requirements in order to comply with FATCA regulations. This exposes them to enormous risk the remaining 364 days a year because an individual’s risk status could change throughout the year and the organization would have no knowledge of it. DRS® eliminates this risk by empowering organizations with integrated overnight screening which provides immediate results matched against a reputable authoritative source.
