Blue Mungo was founded by Kate McMahon back in 2013 as a means to sell her surplus of knitted items. After all, you can only wear so many scarves over the course of one winter. Over the first few years, the company went through both a name change (originally thingsKATEmade) and a major shift in product. Blue Mungo becuase a retailer of knitting and crochet patterns through the online site Ravelry.com. It was then that the business really began to take form. However, as Kate's crafting interests changed, so did the company. Today, Blue Mungo is focused on the creation, production, and retail of quilt patterns with an emphasis on designs that are modern and approachable for quilters of all skill levels. All patterns, both print and digital versions, can be found online at BlueMungo.com or at various local quilt shops around Ohio. Kate also teaches classes based around her patterns and is available for private lessons. Blue Mungo's goal is to share a love of quilting with others through patterns that are approachable, modern, and most of all fun to create!
