Blue Observer

Blue Observer is an organization whose objective is to develop and decarbonize ocean sciences. By providing technical, human, financial and media resources to public and private actors, Blue Observer contributes to better understand, value and protect the ocean. Our missions - COLLECT DATA by leading oceanographic campaigns under sail. Blue Observer puts its sailing boat IRIS at the disposal of the scientific community for data and sample collection missions, instrument deployment and recovery, and deep-sea observation. Thanks to the sailboat propulsion, scientists benefit from a low-carbon, economical, clean and flexible solution to conduct their operations- FUNDING RESEARCH by supporting decarbonized ocean science. We support basic research programs by creating and coordinating partnerships between scientists and public and private financiers- DEVELOPING INNOVATION by supporting responsible innovative projects. Blue Observer is also a bridge between fundamental and applied research. Our teams accompany financially, humanly and operationally high impact innovation projects- TRANSMIT KNOWLEDGE by creating and distributing engaging scientific content. In order to raise awareness on oceanic issues, Blue Observer develops a communication platform to highlight scientific content around the themes treated during the expeditions. By creating media content, Blue Observer wishes to inform in a rigorous way about the state of health of the ocean and to mobilize for its protection.
