BMD Psychology is a private clinical psychology practice based in Melbourne. We provide friendly, expert therapy/counselling to individuals and to couples for a wide range of issues. We have a specific focus on giving our clients the skills, strategies and resources they need to manage their current and future situations effectively. We use only evidence-based therapies in our work, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. With couples, we find the Gottman approach is very helpful. BMD prioritises the development of a healthy and effective therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist, inviting and providing feedback about the therapeutic process and progress, and encouraging clients to take an active role in their therapy. Brenda Dolieslager is BMD's founder and director. She has been a registered clinical and criminal justice psychologist for 20+ years, and she has provided counselling/therapy to a wide range of clients. She has a friendly, warm and respectful style, with a focus on helping clients learn how to help themselves. Brenda has worked with many psychological issues and conditions, and with both male and female clients, ranging in age from 16 to 75 years. She sees therapy as an opportunity to help clients develop a toolkit of skills, strategies and resources. These are with the client for life, and will support and assist them through any future challenges long after therapy has come to an end.
