By being associated with so many outstanding hitters (pro and amateur) of diversified styles, a commonality becomes evident with respect to core technical fundamentals, rhythm, and balance. The challenge for players is knowing the commonalities and adopting a style that matches the individual’s assets to the proper mechanics. My challenge is matching science and art in order to provide effective communication tools for successful results. Fulfilling goals, enjoying the game, and successfully competing at each baseball level entails knowing the core parameters, establishing the proper foundation, working on specific issues, and realizing what needed adjustments to make when necessary. There is a definitive reason why top athletes require personal coaching in order to achieve top performance… They cannot play and coach simultaneously. Learning involves feeling, seeing, and understanding. Despite the latest technologies, there is a necessary combination of science and art to accurately analyze video information, define specific mechanical issues, and effectively explain solutions.
