The scam involved a hacked employee email requesting a bank account change and payroll completed the request. When we reviewed the payroll file with ePAS, it alerted us to the account change, which triggered our follow up and learned the employee did not authorize the change. We contacted the bank prior to deposit finalization and pulled back the money to avoid fraud.
