Born GmbH is an established manufacturer of technical textiles and smart/e-textiles with deep expertise in flat knitting. Since 1991, our owner-run company has turned engineering ideas into reliable, industrial-scale products. Together with our Smart Textiles Hub, Born’s development and innovation unit, we offer a single, integrated path from exploration and prototyping to validated series production. You can co-create and test solutions in the Hub, then industrialize them with Born’s manufacturing teams and processes. Our capabilities span latest-generation flat, circular and 3D knitting, plus HF welding, laser processing, bonding and full assembly. We integrate sensors, conductors and modules for e-textiles and manage the transition from small runs to high-volume manufacturing with robust quality routines. We serve customers across medical, occupational safety/PPE, building, transportation, defense, fitness & wellbeing and apparel. Production runs from our sites in Germany and Poland, supplemented by vetted European partners where it adds speed or capacity.
