However, the development of vaccines against a wide range of newly emerging viruses is challenging. Also, discovering a new pharmacologically significant compound requires a lot of facilities and is time-consuming and undesirable in today's conditions. Mushrooms are an important part of our diet with good known antiviral activity due to polysaccharides in their mycelium and many other potentially bioactive compounds. Such naturally-appeared agents could irreversibly modify viral particles on different surfaces and, being non-toxic in the human body. Thus, antiviral bioactive supplements from fungi are the choice of equilibrium between modern pharmaceutical offers and naturally based products. We have already started the development of a consumer supplement on the basis of a mix of mushrooms, which significantly empower the immune system and help people strengthen their immune system, so they are better equipped to fight against coronavirus and its potential mutations.
