Boulder Ballet

Since our founding in 1982, Boulder Ballet has grown to become a regional ballet company with a reputation for staging engaging as well as popular ballets. Boulder Ballet’s vision is to be a leading arts organization celebrated for its excellence and inclusivity. We aspire to be a bold dance institution that creates a nurturing environment of artistic growth and builds a community of outstanding humans. As part of our mission, Boulder Ballet strives to offer unique perspectives in dance and bring diversity to our performances and community. It is an important focus for our organization to give opportunities to voices that previously have been unheard. By seeking talented choreographers of diverse backgrounds we aim to offer a colorful spectrum of brilliance across our dance landscape. Future audiences will enjoy choreographers that offer creative works with different perspectives, giving greater value to all voices in doing so. We are proud to start off this new year with a program that features all African American Choreographers during Black History Month. In addition, we are thrilled to bring the choreography of dance icons Amy Seiwert, Paul Taylor and Christopher Wheeldon to Boulder. The Boulder Ballet School (BBS) provides ballet training for all ages, pre-school through adult, in an atmosphere of creative excellence. As a professional-track ballet school, BBS challenges students dedicated to pursuing dance as a career but also welcomes those who dance purely for enjoyment. Our students have excelled in a number of competitions, including the Denver Ballet Guild Young Dancers Competition and Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP). Boulder Ballet is extremely proud of graduates currently performing with American Ballet Theatre, Ballet West, Boulder Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Leipzig Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet II, The Royal Ballet (London), and Sacramento Ballet among others.
