Boustead Beef Pvt Ltd

In March 2019 an agreement was reached between the government of the Republic of Zimbabwe and Boustead Beef (Pvt) Ltd, for Boustead beef to acquire the cold storage company, zimbabwe’s largest meat producer. With facilities in all the major centres of Zimbabwe, including 4 certified abattoirs, a meat processing and canning factory, a tannery and numerous ranches and feedlots, the cold storage company was the largest beef producer in Southern Africa. Boustead beef intends to embark on a rehabilitation and refurbishment programme, to modernise the full beef process chain, from the calf through to the plate. Boustead beef has already procured the equipment required for the refitment of the abattoirs, and cold chain facilities and the first plant should be fully operational within 6 months. Boustead beef will also refurbish all its ranches, and embark on a restocking programme, and working with local communities, will introduce new DNA into the herds, through breeding programmes. The redevelopment of the national herd is paramount to the success of the beef industry in Zimbabwe.
