Brain-Machine Interface Systems Lab
Our laboratory is a multidisciplinary group that focuses its research on developing neurotechnologies to improve care and rehabilitation for persons with motor disabilities. On the one hand, our group develops interfaces based on brain signals to facilitate interaction of persons who have severe motor limitations with their surroundings. On the other, it combines the use of brain interfaces with technology from the field of robotics, like for example robotic exoskeletons, to improve rehabilitation in patients suffering a cerebrovascular accident or spinal cord injury. Additionally within this field, our group investigates the use of neurostimulation techniques for application in rehabilitation therapies. In all of these lines, our laboratory participates in research projects financed by both national and international competitive calls in addition to collaborating with hospitals and research groups of reference.
