The human body requires oxygen to survive. This is why we continually manufacture red blood cells — to carry oxygen. But this does not mean that the purpose of being human is to make red blood cells. Similarly, a business is required to create profit in order to survive, but we at Branch B do not believe that means the purpose of our business is to generate profit. Instead we believe the purpose of our business is to improve the lives of our employee’s, the people in our community, and the condition of our planet. Today, businesses are uniquely positioned to have a positive impact on the lives of its employees, its community and the planet. Branch B works exclusively with companies and causes that share these values and we will also continue to donate our services to causes who can’t afford us but need our help. Successfully executing our goal of contributing to making the world a better place requires that we can measure our efforts and be accountable to our goals and values. This why we are now actively pursuing B Corp Certification. B Lab is the nonprofit organization behind B Corp and serves as a “Global movement of people using business as a force for good™”. Its vision is that one day all companies compete not only to be the best in the world, “Best for the World”. As a result, society will enjoy a more shared and durable prosperity. Branch B believes that our commitment to the ideals of B Corp align perfectly with the the goals of like minded companies, as well as causes and non-profits.
