History: The name "Breakdown Safaris" derives from the founders' own experiences during a three-month- long sojourn throughout Tanzania in the early months of 2013. The journey was intended to explore and identify the resources of the country, including ways to enhance understanding of the connectedness of "all things living". We include people and culture, animals, insects and birds, plants of every size, as well as the creatures of the sea in our definition of "life". The founders utilized public transportation (buses), accommodations in basic guesthouses, and the most budget of restaurants. The result of this challenging journey was a recognition and appreciation of the beauty and value of Tanzania's assets, as well as an understanding that it is often necessary to be "broken down" in order to begin the integration of the vital and life-sustaining concept of "connection". Breakdown Safaris offers unique guided safaris throughout the southern circuit of Tanzania.
