This investigation project, directed by the Sheffield University (UK) and the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (ARG), aims to reduce the exposure to atmospheric contamination in schoolyards by the implementation of green fences composed by phytoremediating plants. Our primary objective is to safeguard the children and teenagers that use these spaces, which are constantly breathing particulate matter and Nitrogen Dioxide, mainly resulting from transportation emissions of urban and peri-urban areas of big cities.
