Bridget Mcdonnell Gallery
Bridget McDonnell established her gallery in 1983, initially opening on High Street, Armadale, before moving to Carlton in 1986. The Gallery has around works in stock, mostly museum quality and usually has about 200 pictures on view at any one time. Paintings and drawings by major artists are affordable and fine examples can be acquired for much less than often thought. Over the years, the Gallery’s buyers have included all state galleries, state libraries in Victoria, NSW and Tasmania, the National Gallery Canberra, the National Maritime Museum, the War Memorial and many regional galleries, as well as private collectors here and overseas. Bridget has been a Government approved valuer under the Tax Incentive for the Arts Scheme since 1990, was on the Committee for Taxation Incentives for the Arts from 2004 - 2012 and Chair of the Committee 2011 - 2012. She was also on the Collections Committee for the State Library of Victoria from 2004 until 2014.
