Brisbane Opal Museum
Brisbane Opal Museum opened in 2009 and has consistently expanded its collection. At Brisbane Opal Museum, we aim to share the national Australian opal gemstone with the local and international community through science, culture, art and heritage. The collection includes gemstones from Australian localities and localities overseas, as opal occurs in many worldwide locations (Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Mexico, and Peru for the most known) In 2023, a mineral collection from the Mineralogical Society of Queensland was added. BOPM is currently a privately owned museum.
