As I started studying medicine at UBC, I noticed the lack of financial education provided to future physicians. These skills become critical to a successful career of a practicing physician. Too often, the initial teaching young physicians receive is from professionals interested in their business. Leaving students vulnerable and unprepared to make well-rounded decisions. My goal is to have medical students begin the process of understanding financial concepts and planning in an unbiased environment. Preparing them for decisions surrounding insurance, opening a clinic, signing employment contracts, and managing personal debt.
