Builders Platform is designed to revolutionise the Renovation/Interior Design industry in Hong Kong by launching a first of its kind centralised job marketplace for renovation "builders" and "contractors" to resolve the job imbalance phenomenon that existed over 40 years in the renovation industry. Builders Platform is working on bringing the majority of Hong Kong's builders to join its mobile job platform which purpose is to provide a community for better connections with their fellow peers and employers. The idea of a centralised job platform is welcomed by hundreds of builders we interviewed because most of them work as a freelancer, not bounded by contract with any company which means many of them are constantly looking for the next job. Renovation builder is a traditional profession, and its hiring method remains conventional. Peer connection is still the main method one can ask for employment opportunities. For those who have weaker networks in the industry means they struggle more to find jobs, one after another. Renovation companies and interior design companies usually have a crew of builders they like to employ for their projects. However, that crew isn't always enough to handle all the projects, and companies would look for more help. Peer introduction is the most common way, but it is inefficient and ineffective.
