Building Performance Architecture (BPA) is a building energy consulting and architecture firm. We believe in the importance of efficient and healthy buildings, and we take care to help clients they get the building performance they need. Since 2008, BPA has become known in the Pittsburgh region and beyond for its ability to integrate building performance into existing building analysis, the design process, and quality control during construction. BPA has delivered energy efficiency to over dwelling units, and has provided Passive House field verification services for the first PHIUS+ certified apartment building in the U.S. BPA has led the largest building envelope air leakage testing projects ever conducted in the Pittsburgh region. BPA has conducted ASHRAE building energy audits, leading to substantial energy savings and institutional re-orientation toward green operations. BPA has conducted building envelope commissioning for both private and public clients, and is familiar with multiple building rating systems, including LEED, ENERGY STAR, and Passive building certification. BPA helps to incorporate performance metrics and quality control methods into construction documents for both BPA-designed projects and projects designed by others. Finally, BPA has served as architect for multiple energy efficiency retrofit projects. Over the years, BPA has advanced the adoption of building performance best practices by architects, contractors, and building owners.
