We want to become part of your home building team as soon as you have purchased the property and before further steps have been taken. We provide CONSULTATION to help you determine the level of Building Practices that you may want in your next new home. This involves getting to know your needs and providing you with information and/or education related to Best Building Practices that may best meet your goals. Many common practices are not Best Building Practices or even meeting the building codes. We help you sort through this set of choices. Next we work with you and the rest of your building team (Landscape architect, Architect, Builder, HVAC contractor, other sub-contractors) to DESIGN and/or SPECIFY in detail the parameters to be implemented to achieve Best Building Pracitces. Many homes are built without sufficient SPECIFICATION detail. As a result, many choices may be left unspecified - and chosen by the LOWEST BIDDER. Our services include MONITORING, for our client, the actual building process for implementation of the specified Best Building Practices. This may include on-site meetings with the contractor and/or some of his subcontractors to assure understanding of the Best Building Practices to be implemented. We document The process with pictures and progress reports. As the home nears completion, we test the functionality and performance of the home along with assuring completion of open "punch list" items. The final result is a functioning home along with a full set of home construction documents and pictures. These elements are part of the fully developed Home Manual that is presented at the concluson of homeowner orientation. If applicable, we can function as Third Party Verifier for most major Green Building Programs including LEED for Homes.
