It was on the sidewalks of London on a windy evening that Sangieve Bulchandani began his dream of creating a line of luxury leather products in India. His foray began in Bangalore, India where he set up his factory in 1988 towards his vision of creating his dream brand Bulchee in India. Armed with all the international aesthetics and a sublime love for leather and its craftsmanship, he began small scale, by creating leather watch belts. With every new texture and colour pallette, leading watch companies like HMT/Titan started giving him orders for bulk manufacturing for the enhancement of the watch dials they produced. The artist and the visionary in him was restless. He broke from the confines of only watch straps and began experimenting with his imagination in a production line of belts and wallets that had the style ethos of Italy, London and the fine Indian craftsmanship. In the years that followed Sangieve Bulchandani took the brand to its grandiose discovery only to be unfortunately thwarted with bad health, that forced his wife Neeta Bulchandani to take over the reins of the brand from her husband. Neeta with her education in economics geared herself to take over the mantle of the family business and the brand Bulchee to newer heights. Today under her imagination and sharp business skills, Bulchee in its repertoire of offerings creates bags, belts and wallets that are luxurious and also affordable. She believes fashion is ever changing but style is an inherent gift which is natural and effortless. The current collections in Bulchee are dreams that are created to perfection, where the needle, the leather, the style and the art in the product range is the main protagonist.
