Founded in 1921 by furniture retailer L. R. Burnham- Evolved into Burnham Van Service, a pioneer in the emerging moving industry- Received one of the country's first Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) certificates in 1930- Burnham Warehouses, Inc. opened in 1949- Burnham World Forwarders, our international arm, began operation in the 1960s- Entered the Canadian market via acquisition in 1987, a move that greatly expanded our North American presence- In 1988 Burnham was purchased by Investcorp Group (providing the solid financial footing on which we stand today)-In 1995 a new beginning for the "new" Burnham - a new vision, a new leadership team, and a new focus on our mission, objective and values.
